William Amoureux has been with Sapphire Healthcare Services since the beginning and is currently the Administrator of Sapphire Estates Rahab Centre, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility.
Mr. Amoureux completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science and Health at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1986 and then his graduate studies in Public Health (Master of Public Health) at the College of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1987.
Mr. Amoureux began his career in health care with the Veteran’s Administration Health Systems Research and Development Field Program while still in graduate school. Since then he has been involved in the administration of many aspects of Public Health for over 30 years, including over 20 years as a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, 10 of which have been in Arizona.
Over the course of his 20 plus year career as a licensed nursing home administrator, he has managed 12 different skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities, both as a licensed administrator and as a director with multi-facility responsibilities.
Mr. Amoureux is involved with many other pursuits and enterprises in both business and recreation, including healthcare facility staffing, real estate and many outdoor activities.
With a varied professional adventure that has seen her work for others as well as operate her own businesses in Australia, the UK, Canada and now the US, Marielena is well placed to be both our Assistant Administrator as well as the Director of Human Resources.
Her extensive and varied experience goes a long way in supporting the Administrator and the facility in its daily needs. She possesses a vast cross-cultural understanding which gives her a unique perspective on Human Resource issues.
Kristin Pearson is a Doctor of Physical Therapy who specializes in geriatric and vestibular rehab. Kristin is a native to Tucson AZ and proud to call Tucson home. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona and Physical therapy studies at University of St. Augustine in San Marcos, California.
Kristin prides herself in providing compassionate care to her patients and their families. She understands that injury to a family member impacts the patient, their social life and their family. Her priority is achieving the best possible recovery after injury to return the patient to the highest level of function and independence.
Samantha is our Health Information guru. She joined the healthcare field in 2003 as a CNA, transitioning to Health Information after receiving her AAS in Health Information Technology. She is skilled in medical records, billing, admissions, and keeps everyone aware of issues of compliance.
Samantha is always engaged with patients and brings a smile everywhere she goes. She is committed to providing excellent customer service by problem solving, focusing on a hands-on approach to any dilemma, and providing a personal touch to each patient.
A Tucson native, Robert began cooking as a youngster at home and it is through his familial influencers that sparked a respect for local ingredients. After graduation, Robert’s culinary odyssey included a stop in California and San Antonio, Texas before returning to Arizona in the early nineties.
After a decade in several local restaurants including Chelsea’s and Maxwell’s, Robert transitioned into healthcare in early 2000s. He has directed the Culinary Departments of Handmaker, Healthsouth, The Forum and Cornerstone before arriving at Sante of Tucson, now Sapphire Estates. His everchanging menus which are his hallmark, have always been informed by the ingredients of the region including herbs and vegetables from local gardens.
Originally from Colorado, Ryan received his grounding in Environmental Services and Facility Management working in the general construction and maintenance field for 18 years.
Ryan made Tucson his home over 7 years ago, first becoming a licensed general contractor and operating his own successful business before being appointed a Facilities Director within a healthcare setting.
In his role, Ryan provides day to day operational support, including disaster preparedness, safety and risk management and maintaining regulatory compliance.
Ryan brings a positive energy to Sapphire, creating a productive environment. He believes trust and teamwork make the world ‘go round’.
Elizabeth has been part of the Tucson community for over 20 years with over a decade of Healthcare experience and a very extensive healthcare knowledge base. Elizabeth is a passionate individual always willing to go above and beyond to assist both patients and family members with any question or concerns about entering a Skilled Nursing Facility.
“I’m a people-person. I love meeting new people and learning about their lives and backgrounds. I’ve seen firsthand how difficult Healthcare decisions can be on everyone involved, I strive to help bridge the gap to independence and enjoy helping people leave the hospital setting and while still receiving the help, assistance and guidance needed to return home.”
Bill has worked in the healthcare industry for more than 26 years and has called Tucson his home for the last 15. He has a passion for helping patients and families feel comfortable and confident in their decision to transition their care to our facility. Throughout his career, Bill has enjoyed building long term relationships based on trust with many patients, families and healthcare providers that he has had the opportunity to work with. When asked, Bill will tell you there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a patient he worked with at the hospital progressing towards their care goals at our facility. He looks forward to meeting you and serving as a resource to help you through your decision process.
